In Empires of Sand there are 12 units available. Each one is unique, but they can be group by armor and speed. There are three types of armor: neutral, magic and physical. The neutral armor protects the unit against any tower, but the protection against a archer tower is not as good as that provided by physical armor.
The first time the pharaoh arrives to his city, there is only one unit available: the scarab. New units can be unlocked in the barracks using gold.
When a unit is unlock in the city, it can be summoned in battles and plunders using divine power. Each unlocked unit can be upgraded to level 5. It is important to upgrde them because a level 1 unit will not survive when approaching a level 2 tower.
During battles, the pharaoh can use divine power to upgrade units. The greater the level of a unit is, the most expensive it becomes.
Here it is the list with the first 6 units available in the game and its features. The list shows only the stats for level 1 units.
Theses giant scarabs are the first units we can summon in the game. They move relaly fast but they are weak. However, they can be very useful if the enemy does not have artillery towers. Magic and archer towers only attack one unit at a time, so a big army of scarabs could go through enemy’s defenses.
Flies above enemy troops; cannot be damaged by bombs. It is really weak against archer towers, but magic towers can stop them too. For example, a level 3 magic tower can defeat some level 2 eagles. So be sure to upgrade the eagles before send them through a way with magic towers.
Horus gives his servant strong magic armor for protection. A good strategy is to send them to the enemy’s field before sending scorpions. They will get the attention of the magic towers, so scorpion will go through avoiding magic attacks.
Scorpions are fast and their carapace protects them from physical attacks. However, they cannot do anything against magic towers. It is a good idea to send them through ways without magic towers. But keep in mind that a level 2 scorpion could go through level 1 magic towers (level 3 scorpions can survive level 2 magic towers, and so on).
They are slow, but can resist strong attacks. It is the perfect unit to fight against soldiers. They are strong, and can defeat soldiers, opening a clear way to other units.
The priest can be a really useful unit in combat. Priests heal allies that are nearby from time to time. He can’t heal other priests, but he can heal the neutral units that appears in the PvP scenario.
